Scotland’s libraries, The Reading Agency and Tesco Bank are now well into the planning process for the 2013 edition of the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland.

A launch is planned for June, and thereafter the nation’s libraries will be creaking with the noises of the Creepy House!

Similar to last year, Tesco Bank’s support of the programme in Scotland will see each participating local authority receive specific budget to put on local activity.

Miranda McKearney, founder director of The Reading Agency said: “We’re very excited about this year’s theme. Scotland’s librarians have made the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland such a success in recent years.

“We’re sure they’ll be building on that success to inspire even more children to love reading.”

Last year nearly 40,000 children participated in the programme in Scotland, now marking a 25% increase in participation since Tesco Bank’s support began.
